October is the month Atlanta stops sweating and starts going out. The heat breaks, the patios fill, and the calendar runs from Pride in Piedmont Park to a Halloween parade in Little Five Points to Georgia and Florida playing in Atlanta on Halloween itself.
Every date below was checked against official pages on October 2, 2026. This guide covers the whole month: festivals, Halloween and fall events, game days, concerts, theater, and museums, grouped so you can plan by weekend or by interest.
One note before you plan. Events change, and some get cancelled outright. ONE Musicfest, a late October regular, is not happening this year. Every event below links to its official page, so confirm there before you buy a ticket or book a trip.

The Big Weekends to Plan Around
Four weekends stand out this October.
October 10 and 11. This is a packed weekend, with Pride, the Arab Festival, and three sports events. Atlanta Pride fills Piedmont Park both days, with the parade on Sunday. The Atlanta Arab Festival runs the same two days, free, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Georgia Tech hosts Duke on Saturday afternoon, Atlanta United plays Saturday night, and the Falcons host the Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Add Weezer at State Farm Arena and Chalktoberfest on the Marietta Square, and the whole city will be busy.
October 17 and 18. The east side takes over. The Little Five Points Halloween Festival runs both days from noon to 7 p.m., and the parade steps off Sunday at 1 p.m. The same weekend brings Boo at the Zoo, Goblins in the Garden, the Highland Games at Stone Mountain, the Brookhaven International Festival, Atlanta United against Inter Miami on Saturday, and the Falcons against the Bears on Sunday.
October 24 and 25. The Hawks open their home schedule against the Rockets on Saturday night. Georgia Tech celebrates homecoming against Boston College. The Inman Park Wine Stroll runs Saturday afternoon, the Atlanta 10 Miler runs from Buckhead to Atlantic Station on Sunday, and the Falcons host the 49ers that afternoon.
October 31. Georgia plays Florida at Mercedes Benz Stadium, the Invesco QQQ Atlanta Gridiron Classic, kicking off at 3:30 p.m. The rivalry moves to Atlanta this year, so expect red, black, orange, and blue across downtown on Halloween. Georgia State hosts Coastal Carolina the same day, and Steve Lacy plays Chastain Park that night.
If you are coming in from out of town for any of these four weekends, book early.
